Albert Frey in the 951

Thanks to a great tip from Tony Merchell on Recent Past Preservation Network’s LottaLiving.com forum, I have found a wonderful building designed by Albert Frey, architect for many of the ultra-mod landmarks in Palm Springs.

This building was completed in 1961 for the local chapter of the Red Cross. Although it is now a church, the organization’s mark on it is unmistakable.

The building is nestled between Sherman Indian School and Chemawa Middle School, at 8880 Magnolia Avenue.
